What Are Snap-In Implant Dentures?
Snap-in dentures, also known as overdentures, are removable dentures that are anchored by dental implants. Unlike traditional dentures that rest on the gums, these dentures attach securely to implants placed in the jawbone. They’re easy to remove for cleaning yet stable enough to stay in place while you eat, talk, and live your life.
What to Expect During Snap-In Denture Treatment
1. Consultation & Evaluation
Dr. Mantena will assess your oral health, bone density, and goals to determine if snap-in dentures are right for you.
2. Implant Placement
A few dental implants—usually 2 to 4 per arch—are placed in the jawbone to act as anchors for your dentures.
3. Healing & Temporary Dentures
While the implants heal and fuse with the bone, temporary dentures may be worn. This healing phase usually lasts a few months.
4. Attachment of Snap Connectors
Once healed, special connectors are attached to the implants and the underside of the denture.
5. Final Fitting & Adjustments
We fit your custom dentures and make any needed adjustments to ensure a comfortable, secure fit.
